Before man landed on the moon, Ross Diner had been serving customers for almost a quarter of a century. Known as one of Georgia’s oldest cafes. They’re still serving breakfast and lunch in the historic downtown of Cartersville, GA. When they opened , television was still a new kid on the block, our WW2 heroes were in their last tour of duty , and when the Ross Diner opened in 1945, Cartersville was about to celebrate its first 100 years. There have been many changes through the decades. The city still draws many tourists off the highways. It seems like a new hotel is popping up when someone begins talking about what is happening in Bartow County.
ROSS DINER STILL A CLASSIC
Since 1945
Did you know? The Ross Diner still has a pay phone in operation. You can actually make a call for about 60 cents. However, most use their own cell phone service. It’s mostly a novelty. It’s something to show the kids and it makes a great conversation piece. Many can still remember the days before "wireless & wifi" was considered a vocabulary word .
...Still serving folks for almost 80 years.

Some remember the 1950s and 1960s even today. World War II was over, and the nation would enter into other conflicts. On the homefront, families were getting back on their feet and the Babyboomer generation had begun. Growing up during the 1960s, the Plymouth Savoy automobiles were practically new off the assembly line. They were beautiful cars, and still offer a style, making them a classic. They were manufactured during a historic era of our nation between 1954 and 1964. Like much of our history, they become ruins of the past. An old rusty Plymouth Savoy was found on the property grounds, and would influence the name given to the museum.
The Savoy Automotive Museum sits on 37 acres. The museum itself is 65,000 square feet. In the collection, they have vehicles that date back as far as 1913. Guests will be able to enjoy a variety of exhibits, a theater, the gift shop, and even a cafe for those who would like to enjoy a meal or snack. There will be events on the grounds announced in the coming months from car-club gatherings, car shows, cruise-ins, concerts, and many more family friendly activities. For even more benefits and discounts, patrons can become members each year. For more information: Savoy Automobile Museum PO Box 3068 Cartersville, GA 30120 770.416.1500 Website: www.savoymuseum.org
