Favorite Town Park

Enjoy the view. Don't forget your camera!

Take the road less traveled by. Meander off the interstate and discover hidden treasure just off the beaten path. Locals know. However, is it worth you knowing? I say yes. That is for those who love scenic beauty and appreciate God's creation. "Go west, young man", and you may stumble across treasures such as this. Well, this is assuming one is traveling from Georgia across the Appalachian region. In fact, the overlook glances across the Tennessee Valley floor. The Tennessee River cuts away, forging a path through the surface of the Earth across multiple states and hundreds of miles. Another famous body of water, the Mississippi, meanders from the north near the Canadian border. The river system in the United States would be worth investigating. Secure a map online or in the local library. You will soon realize the vast importance of these treasures.

FUN FACTS More than 2,300 miles long, the Mississippi cuts all the way to the Gulf of Mexico. In Kentucky, the Tennesee River discharges into the Ohio River a few miles above where a small portion of the river merges with the Mississippi. While one doesn't have to travel across the nation to enjoy the beauty and natural wonder of our rivers. these treasures can be enjoyed by visiting nearby small towns. The Tennessee River meanders through the Scottsboro area once you cross the bridge a few miles from the park. Perhaps, this treasure is in your own backyard, or just a drive away from the hustle and bustle of a big city. The small town of Section, Alabama rests on the brow above the Tennessee Valley while sharing this view with all of it's neighbors.

On route 35, eighteen miles west of Fort Payne, Alabama , this little park can be found in the small town of Section named Weathington Park. As an author, I enjoy this as a favorite writing spot. There is a picnic area, a track around the park, and benches with a view no matter where you are at the moment.
