Travel 200 miles without leaving northwest Georgia on a journey that could take more than a couple of days. Native Americans settled the Western Hemisphere for thousands of years.

Other pioneers developed a fever that was contagious with greed. They sought to take gold from those who claimed this territory before they came. In fact, it is estimated that some gold has never been found and was hidden by native ancestors from the earlier explorers. Discover how they fought on the sides of the British, and the militia that would eventually lead to the American Revolution.

It is said the way they were removed was unconstitutional. Because of what they gave up, it’s worth taking some time to learn their story. Walk awhile in their footsteps. After all, they walked 2,200 miles across nine states, and many never made it to their destination.
